ABOUT THE SHOW
In this project, each participant will not only be an actor, but also a key co-creator. Through writing prompts, games, and collaborative scene-building, artists will be asked to explore questions surrounding what it means to identify as female in today’s world. Questions such as, “What do you wish you had been told when you were younger?” will guide the process. Although no one knows what the final product will be, it is sure to be a chance to connect, to explore, and to grow, both as a young artist and as a person.
Please note that due to the nature of this show, we are only seeking feminine-identifying young artists.
Audition slots will be 45 minutes in length, and consist of two parts: a 1-minute monologue, and a short collaborative project with other auditioners. Monologues can be from a show or original–whatever you feel shows off your work best!
Rehearsals will begin over Zoom, then move to an in-person space (outdoor or indoor) once weather and COVID restrictions permit.
The final performance dates will be determined in late spring/early summer based on the availability of the actors and the progress of the show’s creation.
*College Students are currently invited to audition on a volunteer basis, and will be required to complete the appropriate PA clearances. Please reach out with questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
