Little Theater Workshop is hiring a handful of teaching artists for our summer production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. All rehearsals (May-July, evenings and weekends) and performances (July 29-August 1) will take place outdoors within the Perkasie parks system. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WHO RESIDE IN OR AROUND THE PERKASIE AREA.
The positions available are…
The Stage Manager will act as the primary organizer, note-taker, and communicator between different parties in the production. They will ensure all current CDC regulations are met and communicated during rehearsal, and monitor for changes in those directives. In the event the director is unable to attend a rehearsal, the Stage Manager will run rehearsal in their stead, working to maintain the vision of the director. In performance, they will manage actors and backstage personnel, as well as technical elements as needed. This position will receive a modest stipend, plus a cut of performance profits. Previous Stage Management experience preferred, but not required.
ACTING TEACHING ARTISTS (2-4)
The Acting Teaching Artists will serve as actor-role models throughout the production process. Depending on each individual’s skill-set, they will hold additional responsibilities that may include: conducting warm-ups, holding cast workshops on relevant skills and techniques, managing props and/or costumes, and mentoring youth actors interested in backstage or design aspects of the production. Although this position will receive a modest stipend, these positions are non-Equity.
Acting Teaching Artist Candidates will be asked to perform a monologue from Shakespeare’s works, in addition to their interview. We can send you a couple to choose from, if you’d like some guidance.
